Obviously some places are wilder than others. Most hostels will throw a good party now and again, but if youre on the search for a place where theres always a party and a good one, there are some top choices.

Head to Rio. The whole town can feel like a party and there are many many party hostels located there but the granddaddy of party hostels is the Che Lagarto. Its right near Copacabana Beach and the party never ends. You wont get a lot of sleep there but who cares, right? Nathans Hostel in Krakow is known for being on the wild side and you shouldnt even think of staying there unless thats what youre into. Even though it is located in an old and beautiful historic district some people never make it out of the bar. Long term guests are not uncommon and everyone seems to know everyone from the hostel party circuit. Quiet little villages in Spain and even Switzerland have some down and out party places too. The best way to find out which ones are good is by word of mouth. Ask around on the road as people like recommending good party houses. The trick with party hostels is to go there when youre sort of rested up and need to unwind because getting sleep and eating right isnt going to be in the cards. It can be pretty frenzied with parties that go on night and day.

Party hostels are definitely not for everyone, but they are out there for the people who love a good night with new friends.
